Bale’s talent had been discovered when he was young. He played a futsal match for Cardiff Civil Service Football Club at nine, which had attracted attention of Southampton.
Besides football, he also played hockey and long-distance running at high school. Because of his excellence, Bale’s physical education teacher asked him not to kick the football with left foot and not to pass the ball immediately when he touched the ball. In addition, Bale began training professionally in Somerset, so, to a large extent, his physical qualities, patience and skills had been improved. When he was 16 years old, he helped his school team won the title of Cardiff & Vale Senior Cup. Bale’s excellent abilities made him get the best scores in PE when he graduated from high school.
Bale chose Tottenham Hotspur as his football club rather than Manchester United and Arsenal Football Club in 207-08 season. He finished his debut for Tottenham Hotspur in a match against Manchester United in August 26, 2007. Bale scored a goal in another match against Fulham Football Club, which was the first goal he got for Tottenham Hotspur. Bale totally appeared 12 times and scored three goals in 2007-08 season of Premier League.
Bale’s goal made Tottenham Hotspur beat Arsenal Football Club (2-1) on April 14, 2010. And on April 18, 2010, Bale scored by kicking the ball with his right foot and helped the club won Chelsea. In 2013-14 season, Bale scored on his Real Madrid debut, a goal coming in the 38th minute against Villarreal. Bale’s second appearance for Madrid came in a 6–1 victory over Galatasaray in the Champions League. His free-kick led to Cristiano Ronaldo’s second goal of the game. On 28 September 2013, Bale made his home debut as a second-half substitute in a 1–0 loss to local rival Atlético Madrid.
Bale played 27 matches and scored 15 goals. His fabulous performance help Real Madrid won the title of Copa del Rey, UEFA Super Cup and UEFA Champions League in 2013-14 season.
Bale was selected by Wales at the end of the 2005–06 season for a friendly against Trinidad and Tobago on 27 May 2006. Bale became the youngest player to play for Wales, breaking a record held by Lewin Nyatanga for the last three months.
